Unquestionably one of the best ski holiday destinations in the world, Whistler has it all. Two whole mountains of skiing are brought together as one resort by a brilliantly designed village catering for every apres and non-ski need. Whistler attracts skiers and boarders from all over the world and is a fully-fledged international ski resort in every respect - tons of terrain for all abilities, tantalising restaurants, lively nightlife and quality accommodation. And there is an audible buzz about the place in the run-up to the 2010 Winter Olympics which the resort is hosting.

The skiing in Whislter is vast and awesome, yet suitable for all abilities. Blackcomb Mountain has rolling cruisers down its front face and thrilling off-piste descents on its back side. Whistler Mountain has the wide open go-anywhere terrain of Harmony Bowl and, from the top of the Peak Chair, a series of steeper bowls, with bumps and narrow chutes through the trees. There is plenty here to keep the thighs of even the best skiers burning for weeks.

And it doesn't let up in the evenings. Whistler's compact village core is crammed with entertainment. Restaurants range from good honest North American fare for all the family to serious bonus-blowers offering some of the best food in the land. In the main part of the season, you will need to book. After feeding, the Savage Beagle and Tommy Africas will have you dancing until late. There is an amazingly well-stocked supermarket if you are self-catering.

The accommodation in Whistler includes 4 and 5 star hotels, condo hotels which have self-catering apartments within a hotel environment with a front desk and shared facilities, and large condos that are effectively complete homes, with full kitchens and fireplaces. Pools and hot tubs are common. Self-catering accommodation tends to be around the edge of the village core, but the distances are not big and the shuttle buses are excellent.

We are genuine Whistler aficionados and have tons of information about the resort for you – we have broken it down into sections listed on the right. Don’t forget to read our customer reviews too!
