Whistler Winter Activities

As well as world-class skiing, Whistler offers a fantastic range of other activities to add to your holiday experience. Many tours can be booked on an open-date basis, allowing you to decide once in resort which day you will take your tour – just confirm with the tour operator by 24 hours in advance.

From family tours with the kids to backcountry powder adventures for experienced riders, Canadian Snowmobile have a tour to match. Tours run daily, either on Blackcomb Mountain or in the Callaghan Valley, home to the 2010 Winter Olympic Nordic events.
Kids ride free - on the Callaghan Cruiser and Blackcomb Mountain Safari tours, your children go free, one per paying adult

A true Canadian experience, with your dog team leading you into the magnificent old growth forest of the Callaghan Valley. Join your professional musher in harnessing and staging the dogs, learn the commands and how to handle a sled. A great option for all ages.

Nestled in the spectacular valley of ancient rainforest that divides Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, Ziptrek have the highest, longest, and most ziplines around, just minutes from Whistler Village. Daily tours to suit all abilities, from ages 6 and up.


Tubing -

Located in the Base 2 zone on Blackcomb, the Coca-Cola Tube Park offers great fun for the young and the young at heart. There's no skill or equipment required - just a sense of adventure and a desire for excitement. The park has eight lanes varying in difficulty from Green to Blue to Black. Lanes are 1000' and a state-of-the-art conveyor lift makes travelling to the top a breeze. Open daily into the evening.

Dine at 6000ft in the Crystal Hut at the top of Blackcomb Mountain, reached either by snowcat or snowmobile. Dinner is a local interpretation of a traditional candle-lit fondue dinner accompanied by fine wine and followed by fresh baked fruit pie served hot from a wood fired oven. No specific age restriction but not recommended for children.

Enjoy the pristine silence of winter as Percheron draft horses guide you and your sleigh through Whistler's snow covered forested trails. On Blackcomb Mountain, you will be able to view the amazing night lights of Whistler Village before making a stop at a cozy mountain cabin to warm up and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. The ultimate way to experience the fantastic high alpine powder of Whistler and the BC mountains. If you can handle the blue/intermediate runs and occasionally attempt a black run, then you too can go heli-skiing. Whistler Heli-Skiing has exclusive rights to an area of big mountain terrain in the Whistler area that is 54 miles long and 33 miles wide, skiing on 173 glaciers and 475 runs. They’ve been operating since 1981 and are Whistler's most popular heli-ski company, yet there are runs on these mountains that they’re still waiting to ski.

Cat skiing -

A full day catskiing or catboarding is your best bet for getting the most untracked snow for your money. A day spent skiing at Powder Mountain Catskiing is a full day spent skiing. The average day is 7-9 runs. With a maximum 24 people skiing the 4,300 acres and five peaks, you won't find a better powder day in Whistler. Heli-tours also available.
