New England comprises of small bordering states on Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont which are all an easy drive from Boston.
As Boston is closer than the west coast resorts, New England is a preferred option for skiers looking for a shorter trip, families who want to limit the flight time and jet-lag, as well as groups wanting to combine so great skiing with Factory Outlet Shopping and great city stays in Boston or New York. The cheaper flight options mean the packages tend to be cheaper and the non-ski activities surrounding the resorts make it a great option for groups that have non skiers in their midst.
Vermont resorts of Killington, Stowe and Sugarbush are all a 3 ½ drive from Boston, but only an hour apart to easy to link up on a ski safari. Killington is by far the largest ski area in New England with a great range of intermediate terrain and also the liveliest resort. Stowe is a the prettiest resort town with it’s quintessential New England charm is quite a romantic setting for honeymooners. With the recent development of the Claybrook Condos,Sugarbush now offers the highest quality ski in/out condos in New England.
Factory Store Outlet Shopping in New England is fantastic, with over 70% discount off quality brands such as Levi’s, Timberland, Nike, Ralph Lauren, etc. In Maine, the pretty town of Manchester is only 1hr from the resort and North Conway is only 45 mins from Sunday River or Lincoln.
City stays in Boston and New York are a must when visiting the area for the first time. Boston city centre is only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport, so you can easily spend a few hours here before catching an evening flight. New York is more easily accessible from the Maine resorts and around a 5hr drive from Killington, though you can actually take a train to the nearby town of Rutland.
