Skiing holidays to
Mammoth USA

Expert Opinion

“A legendary ski area, that might seem a little more difficult to get to, but well worth the effort. A massive ski terrain with huge snowfall, great cruising runs, huge terrain parks and some pretty scary stuff too. This is a great family option, particularly over Easter when you can easily combine the trip with Las Vegas or the beach in LA.”

Set in the Sierra Nevada, Mammoth is the winter playground for LA and an increasing number of visitors from elsewhere. It has extensive and varied ski terrain - heart-stopping steep chutes at the top widen out into broad cruising runs through the trees - and is one North America's largest ski hills. This, combined with awesome views over the high desert, make Mammoth different from any other US resort and a very enjoyable place to ski.

The new pedestrianised village area, built by Intrawest, is now open and gives the resort a central focus with more ski-in ski-out accommodation. The town of Mammoth has a good range of restaurants, bars & shops. As no reliable transfer service is yet available between Los Angeles and Mammoth, this is a self-drive destination but well worth the effort!
