Skiing holidays to
Grand Targhee USA

Expert Opinion

"Grand Targhee is one of the powder gems of the US and whilst only 1 hour from Jackson Hole, it is well worth a couple of nights stay to do some cat skiing. Also worth a stop on a Jackson Hole, Big Sky Ski Safari."

If you are staying in Jackson Hole, you must go to Grand Targhee, even if it's only for a day. The ski resort is an hour's scenic drive from Jackson, on the other side of the Tetons.

Targhee is summed up, by one word - powder!  The resort receives over 40ft of the stuff every year, and you are more likely to get powder here than almost anywhere else.

It is not a big place with just 4 lifts accessing 2 mountains. Peaked Mountain, the second of the two, used to be the preserve of cat-skiers, but a new lift now gives access to 500 of the 1500 acres. Only 180 of these acres are groomed and it's the untouched stuff that people make the pilgrimage to Targhee for.

An attractive group of buildings with a couple of lodges, 4 restaurants, a bar and a few shops forms the village.
