An old mining town, Copper takes its name from the mineral discovered there in the 1800s.

Copper has only recently hit the international stage.  Intrawest's development of the ski resort has transformed it into one of the best value ski holiday destinations in Colorado.

That said, it has always been one of Colorado's best ski areas and a favourite amongst the locals with excellent snow reliability and great terrain for all levels.

There are effectively 2 parts to the resort village - East Village, made up mostly of accommodation, and the New Village where you will find most of the shops, restaurants and lodging. Both areas have access to the slopes and are linked by a shuttle bus. A short transfer time from Denver, affordable and convenient lodging and first-class skiing make Copper Mountain a superb choice.

Copper could have been made for skiing.  There are plently of crusiers to warm up on, some super steeper pitches above the East Village and plently of bumps.  On the back side of the mountain there are fantastic wide open bowls that offer a great introduction to backcountry skiing.  There is a dedicated Family Zone above Union Creek on the west of the resort.
