Skiing holidays to
St Moritz Switzerland

Expert Opinion

"St Moritz has a special place in my heart. I have been there countless times and will never tire of it. My favourite pisted run in the Alps lies at the top of Corvatsch – wide, steep, empty and covered in powder. Why can’t all runs be like this?"

Tips & Advice

  • Don't just stick to nice and easy Corviglia. The best skiing in St Moritz is found on the other mountains. Corvatsch is steep and uncrowded, there is a spectacular glacier run accessible from Diavollezza and Lagalb has thigh burning blacks all the way down.

  • For a warming Gluhwein or a hearty lunch, stop at the cosy Gluna restaurant on Corviglia.

  • Friday night skiing on Corvatsch is so much fun. The whole mountain is lit up so you can ski all the way down. The fun bit is stopping off at the bars on the way down and seeing how much schnapps you can drink whilst still retaining your poise on the slopes.

  • On a white out day, hop in the train and go to the spa in Schultz/Scuol. It has a range of treatments and a beautifully heated outdoor pool - just sit back and enjoy the view. Or if you fancy staying in St Moritz, the Kempinski Grand has the best spa in St Moritz and you can pay for a day pass.

  • As an alternative to downhill, there are some world class cross country skiing tracks along the Engadine valley which take you through picturesque, Romansch speaking villages.
