Skiing holidays to
Engelberg Switzerland

Expert Opinion

"Engelberg takes my breath away. The skiing is steep and north facing, the surrounding scenery is incredibly beautiful, the village is historical and lively and, best of all, no one has heard about it. It’s a real gem and I love it."

"The team had a fantastic weekend. Enbgelberg was amazing. A great place for a weekend break. Off piste was excellent! The hotel Garni Belmont was excellent and very close to the Titlis cable-car, very clean and convenient. Very goo breakfast buffet too."

"I not sure I should be saying this as I fully agree with Rebecca's comments - Engleberg is a real hidden gem. The resort, which is traditional Swiss in its feel and look, is more famous in India than the UK as it is a popular film location for Bollywood movies (hence the good Indian restaurant). Although the ski area is not massive their is a good range of prepared pistes for all levels including, but where the fun begins is there are lots of off piste areas to explore - would recommend a guide to help you find your way. What was great is that the resort keeps a limit on numbers so on cloudyish days (we had a few) the locals don't come up the valley and the pistes were amazing quiet given the time of year. The resort is lively with some good bars and restaurants plus a good leisure centre. We timed it perfect for a FIS Ski Jumping competition which was excellent fun to watch with the locals. Can thoroughly recommend this resort but don't tell everyone about it!"
