Tips & Advice
On the slopes:
-
Best off-piste - if you are an advanced skier and enjoy the powder it is worth heading over to Rendl and Stuben for the best off-piste - however we do recommend that you hire avalanche kit before venturing too far.
-
White out - if it is a white out outside and the kids are going frantic do not panic, why not head off to the Alberg wellness centre and leave the children playing in the indoor or outdoor pool while you go and use the gym or relax in the sauna. Bear in mind Austrian saunas do not allow swimming costumes!
-
Sunshine - if you are lucky enough to be in St Anton when the sun is shining and the snow is good (Feb/ March) we recommend you ski Rendl mountain all morning and then stop for a snack at Rendl’s own beach - with beautiful scenery and the sun beating down on you - life does not get much better.
Aprés ski recommendations:
-
Tobogganing - why not try the Rodel run in the evening in Nasserein, it is lots of fun but definitely not for the faint hearted. Then to steady your nerves you must stop at the Rodelalm for probably the best Tyrolean supper in town - the pork shanks are highly recommended.
-
Partying - if you like to party after a hard days skiing then there are only really 2 bars on the mountain that need to be mentioned. The Krazy Kanguruh - which is St Anton’s original après-ski venue on the mountain, and the more traditional Mooserwirt - all I am going to say is you need to see it to believe it.
