Financial Protection

You can book with us in complete confidence. Our company finances are inspected regularly and a bond ensures the security of your holiday and any money you pay to us. This applies whether you book a package or a single element holiday and this goes over and above our legal obligations.

The air holidays and flights we offer are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is ATOL 4488. ATOL Protection extends only to customers who book and pay in the United Kingdom. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, the CAA will ensure that you are not stranded abroad and will arrange to refund any money you have paid to us for an advance booking. For further information, visit the ATOL website at http://www.atol.org.uk/. Please note that scheduled airline failure is not covered by an ATOL. The price of our holiday packages includes the amount of £1 per person as part of the ATOL Protection Contribution we pay to the CAA.

For holidays that do not include flights, you are protected by Tour Operator Failure Cover Insurance. In the unlikely event of our insolvency, you would acquire the benefit of this policy.  It would ensure that payments made by you for your holiday arrangement would be refunded.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Does Ski Safari have an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence?

Yes. Our ATOL number is 4488. This means that if you have booked a package holiday including flights with Ski Safari your holiday money is protected and in the unlikely event that you are abroad and Ski Safari goes into liquidation you will be repatriated.


Is my money protected if I have purchased a holiday with Ski Safari without flights?

If you have booked elements of your holiday such as accommodation, car hire or lift passes with Ski Safari, but not your flights, your money is protected by an insurance policy. You will be the beneficiary of this policy in the unlikely event of our insolvency.


What if the airline that we are travelling with goes bust?

Unlike tour operators, airlines do not take responsibility for their insolvency. So if you book a flight direct with an airline which then goes into liquidation, you are more than likely to lose your money and will potentially have to cancel your holiday. Contrary to popular belief airline insolvency is not covered in an ATOL. The Civil Aviation Authority website at www.caa.co.uk has further information on this.

However, if you have booked the flight with Ski Safari as part of a package we will make alternative travel arrangements for you so that you can continue with your holiday. In the event that no alternative is available, it is advisable to have travel insurance in place to cover you.


What about if other suppliers go bust?

The same thing applies. If you have booked that holiday element with us, we will arrange an alternative for you if a supplier goes bust. In the event that no alternative is available, it is advisable to have travel insurance in place to cover you.
